“Does He screen before He calls❓”

The one that screens is not the Lord, but I myself.

……

Another me said, “Who do you share your weekly reflection with on Sundays?”

I said, “My family.”

Another me said, “Why?”

I said, “I share with those I meet.”

Another me said, “Um…any more?”

I said, “Friends.”

Another me said, “Why?”

I said, “I share with those I meet.”

Another me said, “Um…any more?”

I said, “Teachers, classmates and students.”

Another me said, “Why?”

I said, “I share with those I meet.”

Another me said, “Um…any more?”

I said, “Church brothers and sisters.”

Another me said, “Why?”

I said, “I share with those I meet.”

Another me said, “Um…anybody else?”

I said, “Any stranger that I come across.”

Another me said, “Why?”

I said, “I share with those I meet.”

Another me said, “So you share with whoever you meet?”

I said, “Right, there’s no password in my website. You can even forward it without letting me know.”

Another me said, “Don’t you screen whom you share with?”

I said, “Why screening? The Lord does no screening when He makes invitations to His daily banquet in His house - the heaven.”

Another me said, “How does the Lord make invitations?”

I said, “He calls His servants to make invitations to anyone they come across on the street. He welcomes anybody, whether the bad or the good. The seats are always occupied.

Another me said, “If you make invitations to your website in the same way as the Lord does, then everybody can receive your reflections.”

I said, “Not really.”

Another me said, “Why?”

I said, “Though I make invitations to anyone I meet, it is finally up to whether or not they are willing to accept it.

Another me said, “It will be ok if I say I accept it.”

I said, “Not yet.”

Another me said, “Why on earth?”

I said,  You say you accept it. Then, you just receive a link I send you every Sunday. Yet in order to receive the message, you get to take the time to turn on your Signal or WhatsApp, click on the link, and read it from the top to the bottom. Finally, you receive my message.”

Another me said, “So troublesome! I’d rather read the Bible than your reflection.”

I said, “You say you read the Bible. Yet in order to receive His message, you get to flip open the Bible, pick up certain verses in a certain chapter in a certain book, and read it from the top to the bottom. Finally, you receive His message.”

Another me said, “Just as troublesome! I’d rather trust the Lord than read the Bible.”

I said, “You say He is your Lord. Now that the Great Almighty Lord come over to talk to you before your bows and begs, how would you not desire to listen to Him? But there is a lot more than that in trusting the Lord.”

Another me said, “A lot more than that?”

I said, “If you truly trust the Lord, how would you be satisfied with just listening to Him? You’ll desire to interact with Him in prayers, seek how His words will influence us, take actions to follow Him to change ourselves at every moment of our lives. If you desire none of the above, do you really want to trust Him, follow Him and accept the new life that He grants?”

Another me said, “Alas, that is very troublesome to me. You still insist there is no screening in such a big trouble.”

I said, “Absolutely no. If I’d ever done any screening, I wouldn’t have sent invitations to whoever I met but instead set a password to restrict entrance to my website. If the Lord’s ever done any screening, we wouldn’t have heard so many people sharing the gospel around and none of us would have been allowed access to the heaven by simply following Jesus.”

Another me said, “You sound as if the one that does screening is neither you, the website administration, nor the Lord, the saviour. Who is the one that does screening?”

I said, “It is you, the distinguished guest that always finds it troublesome.”
