“To witness the Lord to the ends of the earth, what is the first step❓”

Witness Him to those that I don’t well know.

During a lunch gathering, I talked with my first Sunday school leader about Minister Maggie’s migration decision.

I said, “I’m going for Maggie’s farewell dinner this Saturday.”

He said, “With the class you’re attending on Sundays?”

I said, “Not limited to them, all the classes that Maggie leads may come.”

He said, “Have you ever shared with them your weekly reflections?”

I said, “Not at all.”

He said, “Consider it then.”

I said, “What?”

……

I said, “Let’s share with them!”

Another me said, “Hold on. Let’s wait and see.”

I said, “What are you looking for?”

Another me said, “You don’t know them very well.”

I said, “Not long since the coronavirus, we’ve been meeting every week. But we still don’t know one another well enough?”

Another me said, “They’re a little different from the class you met face-to-face before. You met them on zoom. You rarely met them in person, at most one to two times. You don’t know one another at all”

I said, “Now that I’m sharing my weekly reflection in the net, why do we have to know one another very well? The better we know one another, the more stable the network?”

Another me said, “If you don’t know them well, you can’t expect what they’ll respond to your sharing.”

I said, “Why do I have care about how they will respond? It’s none of my business. It isn’t they but I myself that desires to give daily-life testimonies about the Lord.”

Another me said, “I’m still wondering if it is His will for me to witness Him to those that I don’t well know. Let’s wait for His direction.”

I said, “You get too far. It’s His will, for no doubt. What directions are you waiting for? The Lord does make it clear in Acts 1:8 that He wants me to witness Him to the ends of the earth.”

Another me said, “Let’s decide when it’s time.”

Maggie said, “Which is more remarkable, witnessing the Lord when everything’s going smooth or when it turns difficult?”

……

I said, “Hey, you started witnessing the Lord by writing reflections when you were in the midst of life difficulties.

Another me said, “Yes, in the old days, you…”

I said, “Let’s stop talking about the old days and but move to the present. Are we going to share my weekly reflections to witness the Lord with those that attended Maggie’s farewell dinner. But in the end?”

Another me said, “You forgot it. You just kept eating. Who else can you blame?”

I said, “By the way, the roasted pork tasted really good. It doesn’t matter I forgot it. Now I remember. Let’s make an invitation.”

Another me said, “Now?”

I said, “Not until I reach the ends of the earth?”

……

I switched on my mic and sent everyone an invitation to subscribe my weekly reflections.

Maggie said, “You can send a piece to the meal gathering group for them to have a taste of it.”

I said, “Good idea.”

I said, “Around 5 years ago, when I was still lost in my life, the Lord sent me encouragement through my first Sunday School teacher and support from Minister Maggie so that I could started laying down in writing, one piece after another, the every step along my life walk with Him and sharing a piece each week in order to witness His presence, encourage one another and promote the good news. This Tuesday, the Lord send me another encouragement through my first Sunday school teacher to take the chance of Maggie’s farewell dinner to introduce my weekly reflections to all of you. I was a little hesitant.l and I made no decision yet. But this morning, during the zoom Bible studies, I got a reminder from Him in my prayers. I made up my mind and invite all you to subscribe my “weekly reflections.” Uploaded is the latest piece. If interested, you are welcomed to send me a private text through WhatsApp or Signal. Upon subscription, you will receive a WhatsApp / signal reminder every Sunday. Of course, you are also welcomed to give responses or share your own reflections.”

I sent to the group “198th Reflection: Which piano room in Hong Kong is offered at a big discount❓”

……

I said, “I did my job very well!”

Another me said, “It’s of little meaning you give praise to yourself. What matters is how they’ll respond.”

I said, “Why care about their response? I mean it is not they, but the Lord, that I trust praises me for what I’ve done.”

Another me said, “Wow, do you find it a little embarrassing? You talked as if you were the Lord.”

I said, “No, I am not. But I’ve got a proof.”

Another me said, “Show me.”

I said, “Well I’ve followed His command in Acts 1:8 - witnessing Him to the ends of the earth. For sure, He’s proud of me.”

Another me said, “You don’t even know where the ends of the earth are. How can you be sure that you’re witnessing Him to the ends of the earth?”

I said, “Because the ones, whom I sent an invitation for a subscription of my weekly reflections, are those that I don’t well know. You don’t well know those living at the ends of the earth either, do you?”
