“True faith, when to come about❓”

At a time the way forward is not clearly seen.

One of my existing students introduced his elder brother to learn English from me.

I said, “How do you find your English?”

Student said, “Very bad.”

I said, “How bad?”

Student said, “......”

I said, “No problem. Let’s have a test.”

Student said, “ok.”

After the test,

I said, “Get it. Listening, writing, reading and speaking, you’re weak in all of them.”

Student said, “I know. I’ve failed in English since secondary studies.”

I said, “Which form are you in?”

Student said, “Form 5.”

I said, “DSE is coming soon.”

Student said, “In 13 months.”

I said, “So you want level 2, a pass in DSE?”

Student said, “I want level 3.”

I said, “Um...”

Student said, “Possible?”

I said, “Not impossible but hard to tell, with only 13 months left.”

Student said, “What can I do?”

I said, “How long can you spend on English every day?”

Student said, “An hour a day.”

I said, “How many days can you come over for a lesson?”

Student said, “2.”

I said, “Alright.”

Student said, “What should I do?”

I said, “Do what I say. Try your best to complete all the assignment I give every lesson.”

Student said, “And I can get level 3 in 13 months?”

I said, “It’s possible but not certain. So what do you think? Are you coming?”

Student said, “Yes.”

I said, “Yes, then see you two days later, Wednesday, 5 p.m.”

.......

I said, “How do you find yourself?”

Another me said, “Very bad.”

I said, “How bad?”

Another me said, “......”

I said, “Do you believe Jesus is your personal Lord and Saviour?”

Another me said, “Um...”

I said, “Get it. You are still who you were. Let’s wait for the Judgment.”

Another me said, “What?”

I said, “Do you know when you’ll die?”

Another me said, “If lucky, I may live until 70 to 80.”

I said, “So you don’t know when you’ll die!”

Another me said, “At least I’m still living today.”

I said, “You want to be saved, don’t you?”

Another me said, “I also desire a life transformation.”

I said, “Um...”

Another me said, “Possible?”

I said, “For God, no problem. For you, hard to tell.”

Another me said, “What can I do?”

I said, “Put true faith in God.”

Another me said, “If I put true faith in Him, I can be saved and experience a life transformation?”

I said, “Yes, no doubt. So what do you think? Are you going to truly put your faith in God?”

Another me said, “Yes, I am.”

I said, “Then now, give up everything you have, follow Jesus and set off together.”

Another me said, “Why do I have to give up everything I have?”

I said, “Everything you have is dragging you back. If not giving them up, how can you set off?”

Another me said, “Then, where am I walking with God to? How does the way He guides me along look like?”

I said, “You’ll know only when you get there. So are you moving?”
