Sister called.

Sister said, “Free for a few words?”

I said, “OK. Sure.”

Sister said, “I got promoted.”

I said, “Wow, you got promoted, again?”

Sister said, “Yes, every time I got a new Japanese senior, I got a promotion.”

I said, “The first time?”

Sister said, “The first time, I was promoted from Marketing Assistant to Marketing Chief.”

I said, “The second time?”

Sister said, “The second time, I was promoted from Marketing Chief to Marketing Assistant Manager.”

I said, “The third time?”

Sister said, “The third time, I am promoted from Marketing Assistant Manager to Marketing Manager.”

I said, “Congratulations.”

Sister said, “Thank you.”

I said, “We get to buy some sushi in celebration of your promotion. Call me when back.”

Sister said, “Great.”

I said, “You’re so smart. God blesses you so much.”

Sister said, “Yes, indeed.”

Another me said, “Hey.”

I said, “Hi, you again? Got something to say? Faster please.”

Another me said, “I want to say slowly. I want to see where you can escape when I keep murmuring around your ears.

I said, “Just say it.”

Another me said, “Which position did you serve as in HKBU SCE since 2009?

I said, “Part-time Lecturer.”

Another me said, “Which position did you serve as in OUHK LiPace since 2016?”

I said, “Part-time Lecturer.”

Another me said, “Which position did you serve as in HKU CC since 2021?”

I said, “Part-time Lecturer.”

Another me said, “Are you ashamed? Your sister, entering the job market later than you did, has already got 3 promotions. You’ve been pondering in the field for years only to still be a part-time lecturer?”

I said, “Are you crazy? Why should I be ashamed as a lecturer? So many DSE candidates study so hard simply in order to get into the university.  Now, I am teaching there.”

Another me said, “But the problem is, you have been teaching only to stay as a part-time lecturer.”

I said, “What’s wrong?”

Another me said, “The one that believes in the Lord is you. But the one that His blessings in career is your sister. Don’t you find it unfair?”

I said, “The Lord can bless whoever He wants. It is not up to our comments.”

Another me said, “Alright. Just forget about fairness for a while. Let’s talk about envy. Your sister has got 3 promotions but you stop at part-time lecturer. Haven’t you ever envied? I want the truth!”

I said, “I did envy when she got the first two promotions.”

Another me said, “See, you finally admit it! Hold on, the first two, how about this time?”

I said, “No envy at all this time.”

Another me said, “Why? Your sister has got a step further in her career. She is even a lot smarter than you are. She looks much better than you do.”

I said, “Because I have already committed myself to the wisest and the best of the world - …..”

Another me said, “Jesus Christ. It was 2009 that you made your commitment. In 2012, you even got baptised. In 2009 when you announced your faith, you envied. Now that in 2022, you have been in your faith for 13 years, you thus no longer envy.”

I said, “It has little to do with how long I am in my faith.”

Another me said, “Why don’t you envy this time?"

I said, “Because since Oct 2020, I’ve been following the Lord, the wisest and the best of the world, to a direction farther and farther away from my envy.”

Another me said, “Where are you heading for?”

I said, “Somewhere the Lord has prepared for me since long ago.”

Another me said, “Somewhere?”

I said, “It’s a place to learn music.”

Another me said, “How does the place look like?”

I said, “Tranquil, Fresh, Birds chirping, It’s somewhere on the hillside.”

Another me said, “Where is it? The other world? I can’t get there?”

I said, “Yes, you can, It’s called the Tsz Wan Shan (Temple Hill). You can get there by bus 3D.”

Another me said, “If I take 3D to Tsz Wan Shan, is it for sure that I can stay far away from my envy?”

I said, “Uncertain."

Another me said, “How can it be certain?”

I said, “Take it together with the Lord!”

Another me said, “What is the difference?”

I said, “The difference is the 3D that we take with the Lord never returns.”

Another me said, “When you are told that your sister got the third promotion on the 3D that you take with the Lord, what comes up in your mind?”

I said, “Not envy.”

Another me said, “Not envy, but what else?”

I said, “It is my excitement in expectation for the next piece of music that the Lord is going to introduce to me when the bus comes to a stop.”
