When I was about to go out,

Dad said, “Hey, hold on.”

I said, “What’s up?”

Dad said, “I’m having a severe headache.”

I said, “A severe headache?”

Mum said, “Do you need a doctor?”

Dad said, “Yes.”

I said, “Go to the United Christian Hospital.”

Dad said, “If I go for the emergency service, I’ll probably pass away along the queue there.”

Mum said, “Let’s call the clinics around Kwun Tong.”

I said, “Ok.”

I made calls to the clinics around Kwun Tong.

Mum said, “So?”

I said, “Those clinics either provide only vaccination or require appointments.”

Mum said, “Then make an appointment.”

I said, “But they’re all occupied.”

Mum said, “I’ll go out and try to look for some walk-in vacancy.”

I said, “Good. I’ll keep calling.”

……

I prayed.

Another me said, “Go to Signal.”

I said, “Why go to Signal now?”

Another me said, “Go to “Fresh Breeze.”

I said, “High school classmates group?”

Another me said, “Yes.”

I said, “Is there a doctor to see there?”

Another me said, “No doctor but there’s a COVID-19 handbook. Open it.”

I said, “OK. Whatever.”

I opened COVID-19 handbook.

Another me said, “What do you see?”

I said, “A lot of numbers of different clinics.”

Another me said, “Pick one and call.

I said, “Lam Tin Polyclinic - General Out-patient Clinic.”

I called Lam Tin Polyclinic - General Out-patient Clinic only to find a timeslot that could make an booking.

Mum was back.

Mum said, “No doctors are available.”

I said, “Get up, dad.”

Dad said, “You’ve made an appointment.”

I said, “Yes.”

Mum said, “Really?”

I said, “Yes.”

Dad said, “Where is the doctor?”

I said, “In Lam Tin Polyclinic - General Out-patient Clinic.”

Dad said, “What time?”

I said, “10:30. Still 1 hour left. Now pack your stuff. It’s about time to go. We should arrive 15 minutes earlier.”

Mum said, “What? You can still make an appointment under current condition?”

I said, “Normally I can’t.”

Mum said, “Then why can you now?”

I said, “It’s the Lord. See how much the Lord loves you. This 10:30 timeslot is what the Lord has prepared for you.”

Dad looked at me.

Dad said, “So where are you going now?”

I said, “Go with you to Lam Tin Polyclinic - General Out-patient Clinic. Are you ready?”
