“Why is my old self still staying within me❓”
Perhaps I still keep what stops me from following the Lord today.

I opened the door, Pei Pei stepped in and Mum got up.
Mum said, “So early! You’ve walked Pei Pei already?”
I said, “Yes, a new course starts this morning. I’d like to return to the college earlier in preparation for it.”
Mum said, “I see.”
I carried to my thigh and wiped her body clean.
I said, “Alas, Pei Pei’s got some new sores on her body. Maybe she’s allergic to the new anti-arthritic prescriptions. Let’s take a photo of it and show it to the vet on Saturday.”
Mum said, “No need. There’s nothing to do with the prescriptions!”
I said, “Not with the prescriptions, but with what?”
Mum said, “The dog food.”
I said, “You haven’t bought any new dog food, have you?”
Mum said, “There’s a leftover pack in fish taste. I add that on top of the chicken taste to make some more interest to the boring diet that Pei Pei is having.”
I said, “It isn’t certain yet the problem is the leftover fish-taste dog food!”
Mum said, “Take a look at her sores. They grew some time ago.”
I said, “Before taking the prescriptions?”
Mum said, “Yes, many sores are flattened, some even get a scab formed.”
I said, “So there is nothing to do with the vet’s prescriptions.”
Mum said, “90%, but you’d better take a few pictures of the sores.”
I said, “What do you really want? Just a while ago, you asked me to take no pictures but now a few.”
Mum said, “Take a few. Though most sores grew after she was fed the fish-taste dog food, it isn’t certain a few came after taking the prescriptions.”
I said, “Alright.”
Mum said, “Well, it’s time to get rid of the fish-taste one.”
Dad said, “Enough.”
I said, “Are we too noisy?”
Dad said, “No, I got up already.”
I said, “If we hadn’t been too noisy, what is your ‘enough’ all about?”
Dad said, “I’m talking not to you, but to your mum. She always says it’s time to dispose it. It isn’t even after Pei Pei has grown so many sores that she is throwing any away.
Mum smiled and said, “It’s high time to get rid of it.”
I said, “Alas, breath-wasting, bye.”
…….
Another me said, “When I trust the Lord, He will bless me with a new life, won’t He?”
I said, “Of course.”
Another me said, “When I trust the Lord, He will grant me with a new self, won’t He?”
I said, “Of course.”
Another me said, “When I trust the Lord, He will remove from me my old self, won’t He?”
I said, “Of course.”
Another me said, “You’re lying.”
I said, “I’m telling the truth.”
Another me said, “If you’d ever been telling the truth, why would I have been suffering the same problems as I did before I stated my faith in Christ and got baptised?”
I said, “Those that stop you from following the Lord today, have you got rid of them?”
Another me said, “It’s time to get rid of them.”
I said, “So have you?”
Another me said, “It’s high time to get rid of them.”
I said, “Alas, breath-wasting, bye.”

We live by faith, not by…
We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.(2 CORINTHIANS 5:7-9)🌹
