Another me said, “The moment that you decided to commit yourself to Christ, who supported your decision?”

I said, “Haha, there seemed no one that showed support, as far as I can remember.”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was your mum’s response?”

Mum said, “My son, are you demon-possessed?”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was your dad’s response?”

Dad said, “Which church are you going to? Is it a cult? Are you asked to give offerings?”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was your sister’s response?”

I said, “She said nothing.”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was your younger auntie’s response?”

She said, “Those that have received western education are like that. They listen to nobody. There’s no use talking to them.”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was your eldest auntie’s response?”

She said, “When your eldest cousin was still studying in Canada, he said he committed himself to Jesus and even got baptised. But when he is back to Hong Kong, he still burns incense every day and worships many gods and ancestors. So stop making troubles, please.”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was your eldest cousin’s response?”

I said, “He still burns incense and worships many gods.”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was your younger cousin’s response?”

He said, “Let him choose whoever he wants to believe. Since then, he believes and worships Jesus. We believe and worship our gods.”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was the response of the relatives in your dad’s hometown?”

They said, “Those believe in Jesus do not burn incense. So no need to come back for the memorial service for his dead grandma.”

Another me said, “When you said you commit yourself to Jesus, what was the response of your best friend in secondary school that had got baptised?”

He said, “I’m no longer going to church. To commit to Jesus or not, you decide.”

Another me said, “Hearing of their responses, what is your response?”

I said, “I’ve committed myself to Christ.”

Another me said, “How about your family, relatives and best friend?”

I said, “Leave them ALL behind.”
