“One more step forward, how to make❓”
Folllow the Lord, keep the steps and take the next challenge.

15/01/2024 (Mon) 1600 HKAPA Room A121
Teacher opened the door.
Teacher said, “Yip, it’s your turn. Come in.”
I said, “OK.”
Teacher said, “Is the score stand high enough?”
I said, “Yes.
Teacher passed a sheet of exam paper, on which several lines of rhythms and a melody are written.
Teacher said, “Answer these two questions.”
I said, “OK.”
Teacher said, “In 4 minutes, a line of rhythms, a melody, with preparation, singing, and conducting included. Play the tonic note and tonic chords on the piano.”
I said, “Get it.”
I pressed the piano key, returned to the score stand and raised my hands. I conducted with my right hand, count the divisions with my left hand, sang the rhythms and then the melody.”
Teacher said, “Time is up.”
I said, “Oh! I can’t finish and I sang really badly.”
Teacher said, “Not so bad.”
I said, “Really?”
Teacher said, “The basic pulse and pitches are correct. You’re simply too slow.”
I said, “Really?”
Teacher said, “Yes. Show you your exam marks now.”
I said, “So quick.”
Teacher said, “And the total marks as well.”
I said, “Wow.”
Teacher said, “Here it is.”
I said, “I got a pass both in the exam and in the course.”
Teacher said, “You failed in the first few quizzes but later you passed in the upcoming ones. Keep your effort and you can catch up.”
I said, “I’ve been practising every day. I sing whenever I get on the MTR.”
Teacher said, “Keep singing. Don’t stop.”
I said, “OK.”
Teacher said, “It’s much more difficult in the second term. Keep your practice.”
I said, “Get it.”
……
Another me said, “How long do we have to practise singing the melodies and rhythms?”
I said, “Don’t ask for the answers you well know! The teacher’s just encouraged me not to stop practising.”
Another me said, “I deliberately ask to get your agreement to my answers. What the hell did your teacher think and ask you to keep practising.”
I said, “First of all, the one that sent me my teacher’s advice isn’t what the hell, but the Lord in heaven.”
Another me said, “So what, the Lord in heaven? So the Lord has the right to command us to keep singing.”
I said, “Of course. He’s our creator. He is the right to everything about us. But He loves us so much that He voluntarily gives up the right and let us make our own choices, fool!”
Another me said, “So what is your choice?”
I said, “Keep practising every day. Sing once I get onto the MTR.”
Another me said, “Until when will you sing?”
I said, “Until I can catch up.”
Another me said, “After that?”
I said, “Keep practising every day. Sing once I get onto the MTR.”
Another me said, “Keep practising every day even after you’ve caught up.”
I said, “Having caught up doesn’t mean doing it well enough.”
Another me said, “What is good enough?”
I said, “I can sing the pitches and count the rhythms accurately in the pieces that I compose.”
Another me said, “Isn’t it too much?”
I said, “I’m a composer. Do you expect me to wait for my instrumentalists to show me how to count and sing my piece?”
Another me said, “Hey, the more you learn, the more complicated your composition can be. So at that time, what to do?”
I said, “Sing once I get on the MTR. Keep practising until I can catch up.”
