“We cannot accuse Jesus, why❓”

He sacrificed Himself to bring us salvation.

When I was brushing Tung Tung’s teeth…

Mum said, “I scolded at your dad a few days ago.”

I said, “Why? So the bad old days when he left us? Oh please.”

Mum said, “Not about that.”

I said, “So about what?”

Mum said, “Jesus.”

I said, “Jesus? Tell me more.”

Mum said, “A few days ago, your dad and I walked Pei Pei. When we reached the bridge leading to Wah Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Clinic, we saw a group of Christians talking to pedestrians about Jesus.”

I said, “They shared the Gospel with you?”

Mum said, “No. We were standing at the two ends of the bridge. When your dad saw those Jesus’ promoters, he got something to say.”

I said, “What did he say?”

Mum said, “He said, those promoters talked about Jesus around. I can’t see anything worth repeating day and night.”

I said, “So?”

Mum said, “So I scolded him.”

I said, “What did you say?”

Mum said, “I told him, everyone but you can’t accuse Jesus.”

I said, “Why?”

Mum said, “Jesus’s saved him 3 times. So ungrateful you are.”

I said, “3 times?”

Mum said, “The 1st time, his diabetes has rocketed to over 20 degree and caught tuberculosis. Jesus sent him to United Christian Hospital and saved him. It is a Christian hospital. But for Jesus, he should no longer be living.”

I said, “How about the 2nd time?”

Mum said, “The 2nd time. He was transferred to the Haven of Hope Hospital. There is no hope there. 9 out of 10 fail to be discharged. Your granddad passed away here. When he was there, I urged him to write down the recipe of the few dishes that he always cooks. By the time he leaves us, he had made some contributions for the family. Who knew, Jesus discharged him from the hospital.”

I said, “How about the 3rd time?”

Mum said, “You’re so forgetful. Here was the 3rd time. One evening, his tongue got so swollen that he said he could hardly breathe. It was you yourself that immediately sent him to United Christian Hospital, who saved him again with an injection. The doctor said he might have died of suffocation.”

I said, “There seems to be such a happening.”

Mum said, “To be frank, Jesus saved him 3 times. He was allowed to stay alive for a little longer and accused Jesus. Is he eligible? No. If I hadn’t scolded him up, he would still be dreaming right now.”

I said, “You made the right move.”

Mum said, “You find it right too, right?”

……

Another me said, “To accuse Jesus, your dad doesn’t have the right, but you do.”

I said, “No, I don’t either. Why do I?”

Another me said, “First, you’re suffering neither from diabetes, nor from tuberculosis. You don’t need Jesus to send you to the United Christian Hospital.”

I said, “No, this is somewhere I’ll be sent into sooner or late, Second?”

Another me said, “Second, now that you aren’t sent to the United Christian hospital, you won’t be transferred to Haven of Hope Hospital either.”

I said, “It doesn’t mean later I won’t end up there. Third?”

Another me said, “Your tongue hasn’t got swollen. You don’t be sent to the hospital again in the middle of the night.”

I said, “Even so, I still can’t accuse Jesus.”

Another me said, “Are you keeping me from the illness you’re suffering? Have you ever been sent into the United Christian Hospital or transferred to the Haven of Hope Hospital?”

I said, “Not yet.”

Another me said, “Then why can’t accuse Jesus?”

I said, “Because I have sin. Jesus gave up His life to pay for my sin so that I am allowed to receive His salvation by following Him and enjoy being with Him forever.

Another me said, “So everybody can accuse Jesus, except your dad and you.”

I said, “Wrong, wrong, wrong. You can’t accuse Jesus either.”

Another me said, “Why can’t I?”

I said, “You have sin too! Jesus has not only given up His life for your sin, but He's waiting for you to receive His salvation. So ungrateful you are!”

Yes, Jesus waits for us to resign our services to the slave master of sin, so we can follow Him. The result leads to eternal life (Rom.6:23), one in which we’ve been made alive and free to serve the Living God Who Loves us unfailingly.
