I attended a dinner gathering in celebration of my auntie’s birthday. When I was sharing with my sister how I helped HKU Space to solve her lesson arrangement problem….

Auntie said, “You’ve been so helpful to HKU Space in solving her problem.”

I said, “Thank you.”

Auntie said, “But you aren’t to your auntie in solving her problem.”

I said, “Help you? About what?”

Auntie said, “The argument between your mum and me.”

I said, “Ah, your argument? It stayed unresolved until today, your birthday. She wasn’t even joining our celebration.”

Auntie said, “Did you hear about our argument?”

I said, “Yes, I did, Mum told me about it, the day that it happened.

Auntie said, “You did but you offered no help to your auntie, why?” You’ve confined your brilliance to helping HKU Space, am I right?”

I said, “Exactly, I chose to help HKU Space but not you.”

Auntie said, “What? Why?”

I said, “HKU Space owned her problem. She acted proactively to it. She called me and asked me for help so I offered help.”

Auntie said, “……”

I said, “Now you’ve got a problem but you haven’t sought help from you. How could I have known you wanted my help?”

Auntie said, “……”

Another me said, “Can you be a little less disgusting?”

I said, “I am simply who you see I am.”

Another me said, “Let alone being a Christian, you’re even far from a human being.”

I said, “I’m not only a human, but also a Christian.”

Another me said, “The Lord is in no way like you. He doesn’t need my call. He proactively helps me solve my problem.”

I said, “What problem?”

Another me said, “My sin.”

I said, “How proactively did the Lord help you solve your problem?”

Another me said, “He proactively sacrificed Himself to pay for my sin.”

I said, “If you stay passive, you’ll end up in eternal death.”

Another me said, “What? Why? The Lord’s all-knowing. He doesn’t need my reminder. He knows I desperately need Him to solve my sin problem.”

I said, “He’s indeed all-knowing. But until you have proactively admitted your sin, proactively accepted Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour, proactively received His gift of salvation, He’ll still let you head for eternal death.

Another me said, “Why should I be proactive?”

I said, “It is you that has sin. If you aren’t proactive, do you really want to seek the salvation from the Lord?”
