I said, “Wrong.”

Student said, “Huh, what’s wrong?”

I said, “The word ‘done’ is wrong. It’s p.p. (past participle) but the question is asking for past simple.”

Student said, “How to correct?”

I said, “Look it up in the dictionary. I’ve shown you how before.”

Student said, “Did.”

I said, “Correct.”

…….

A moment later,

I said, “Wrong.”

Student said, “Huh, what’s wrong?”

I said, “We don’t add the suffix ‘ing’ immediately after a verb ended with ‘e’”

Student said, “How to correct it?”

I said, “Look it up in the dictionary. I’ve shown you how before.”

Student said, “Delete the letter ‘E’ and add ‘ing’”

I said, “Correct.”

……

A moment later,

I said, “Wrong.”

Student said, “Huh, what’s wrong?”

I said, “You pronounce ‘ee’ wrongly.”

Student said, “How to correct it?”

I said, “Listen to my recording. I’ve shown you how before.”

Student said, “It’s read ‘I’.”

I said, “Correct.”

…..

I said, “Hey, you’ve got a great improvement.”

Student said, “Huh, In what? In English?

I said, “How come? So many mistakes. Not English, but your character.”

Student said, “My character?”

I said, “Do you remember, the first time you came, what was your reaction when I told you that you got something wrong?”

Student said, “What was my reaction?”

I said, “When I told you that you’d got something wrong, you cried and said you wouldn't come back again."

Student said, “Haha.”

I said, “Now when I tell you that you’d got something wrong, you try not only to listen carefully, ask what it is and make amendments correspondingly. Isn’t it a great improvement?”
Student said, “Yes, it is.”

I said, “Do you know why you’ve got such a great improvement?”

Student said, “Why?”

I said, “When I told you that you’d got something wrong, you didn’t cry and leave but returned for amendments the next lesson.”

…….

Another me said, “Such a fool is the kid!”

I said, “A fool?”

Another me said, “He could have hidden his mistake from you. Such a fool.”

I said, “No fool at all? If he seeks improvement in English, he has to show me the mistakes he makes. How could he make any improvement if he hid himself in the first place?”

Another me said, “It’s fine as long as I know my mistakes. I’ll correct them in my room so that I won’t look bad.”

I said, “Wrong.”

Another me said, “Huh, what’s wrong?”

I said, “You care only about your face. You hide your mistakes from all those around you. How can you find the mistakes that you can’t find it on your own?”

Another me said, “I’ll ask the Lord to show me privately in prayers.”

I said, “Wrong.”

Another me said, “Huh, what’s wrong?”

I said, “Wow, how arrogant you are! How dare you limit the way that the Lord shows you the mistakes you’ve made?”

Another me said, “You’re so crazy. I’m not going to talk with you. I’m leaving.”

I said, “Wrong.”

Another me said, “Huh, what’s wrong?”

I said, “Whenever anyone tells you that you’ve got something wrong, you’re leaving. This is wrong, wrong and wrong. You neither accept corrections, nor make amendments. You’re always wrong. You’ll never grow up.”
