“Thanksgiving, how come❓”
By understanding that all that I have in my hands, I don’t deserve.

Dad said, “The result of the check on my diabetes has come out.”
Mum said, “How is it?”
Dad said, “Everything is normal, except one.”
Mum said, “What’s the one? Is it a complication coming with your diabetes onto your eyes? My dead mum did and caught cataract before.”
Dad said, “Ominous!”
Mum said, “Or if happens into your legs, you get to have them cut off, as far as I’ve heard.”
Dad said, “The doctor said I’m gaining too much weight and need to lose some.”
Mum said, “Mind your meals then.”
Dad said, “The doctor didn’t say my meals goes wrong.”
Mum said, “Then do more exercises.”
Dad said, “I’ve already been jogging every morning.”
I said, “One more then...let’s jog in the hillside behind us along Kung Lok Road in the evening.”
Dad said, “You won’t go with me, will you? You either go for music classes, or run along the keys on your piano.”
I said, “Yes, I won’t. But Pei Pei will.”
Mum said, “You make a point here.”
I said, “You may try asking if Pei Pei’s willing to jog in the hillside with you.”
Dad said, “No need. Outing, Pei Pei always welcomes.”
Mum said, “Dad, having got nothing to do after dinner, you sit down and fall asleep. If you keep going to bed after dinner, you are probably dying.”
Dad said, “Pei Pei, let’s have a walk along the hillside tonight.”
Mum said, “All of us walk Pei Pei now. We center around her: you, the morning session; I myself, the late afternoon session; dad, the evening session. We’re just pitiful.”
I said, “Where is the pity?”
Mum said, “We’ve worked so hard over two-third of our lives only to be pitifully left with a little puppy as our company now.”
Dad said, “Yes, indeed.”
I said, “What pity? So many old ones are left alone surrounded by four pieces of walls.”
Mum said, “This is an extreme example.”
I said, “Since your pain on your leg, you’re watching YouTube at home every day. You’ve little idea about what is happening in our community.”
Mum said, “Every son wants his parents to live a good life. Only you don’t. So disgusting.”
Dad said, “Yes, terribly disgusting.”
I said, “I’m no more disgusting than you two, am I? Both of you don’t believe in Jesus but He still arranged me to buy you Pei Pei and Tung Tung as your company at the end of last year. Jesus loves you so much but you still find your life pitiful. I think, Jesus has given you a treatment too generous. It’s more appropriate to arrange you just four pieces of walls.”
