“What is my responsibility for what God grants me❓”

To manage it as well as I can.

......

As far as I can remember...

In 2007, the first year I started teaching, I have not believed in Jesus yet.

Sitting near me in the instructor’s room was my colleague, who was quite close to me. He taught Chinese. He was very experienced.

Some day, he talked to me while practising calligraphy.

Colleague said, “Mr. Yip, it’s the first year you teach English. How is it?”

I said, “I’m teaching Band 3 students English. Nobody knows what I’m talking about. It seems better to teach Chinese, like you.”

Colleague said, “Which classes are you teaching?”

I said, “I’m teaching 3A, 3C and 4B.”

Colleague said, “How are your students?”

I said, “They’re not learning. They act as if I were nothing. My neighbour class 3B is much better."

Colleague said, “3B teacher has strong classroom management. Everybody knows it.”

I said, “She’s lucky to have a class of students so obedient.”

Colleague said, “3B is indeed particularly obedient. She’s really good. But 3A is the elite class. They should be ok.”

I said, “During HKIED class observation, the monitor fought with his classmate.”

Colleague said, “I teach 3A Chinese History. They’re just a little naughty. How about extra-curricular activities? This year, you take over the Japanese Society I led before.”

I said, “I’d rather do calligraphy with you.”

Colleague said, “How is the Japanese Society?”

I said, “The students said they're very interested. But not before I finished teaching the 50 Japanese Kana pronunciation, they’d all left.”

Colleague said, “So you’re now talking to nobody?”

I said, “Yes, I’d better do badminton team.”

Colleague said, “Hey, Mr. Yip.”

I said, “What’s up?”

Colleague said, “You can’t behave like that!”

I said, “What’s wrong?”

Colleague said, “You always find your neighbours’ meals taste better. Is it possible for all the meals that any of your neighbours cook to taste better than yours?”

I said, “......”

Colleague said, “You get to make efforts in cooking your own meal.”
