I said, “I’m going out with Pei Pei a while later.”

Mum said, “To?”

I said, “Sai Kung.”

Mum said, “How about Tung Tung?”

I said, “No, it’s too hot.”

Mum said, “It’s too hot not only for Tung Tung, but also for Pei Pei.”

I said, “Pei Pei won’t be hot too long. We go swimming.”

Mum said, “Why do you go swimming all of a sudden?

I said, “My church friend suggested it. It’s so hot today. I find the idea quite good.”

Mum said, “What time?”

I said, “11:00 a.m.”

Mum said, “So it’s 2 hours and a half later. How can we rush there?”

I called my church friend.

I said, “Pei Pei and I arrived. Where are you?”

Church Friend said, “Home.”

I said, “Didn’t you say you’re coming?”

Church Friend said, “Not yet decided. But I actually asked you if you’d come on Sunday.”

I said, “It doesn’t matter. Pei Pei will get into the water first.”

I said, “I’ve just mixed it up. My church friend’s still deciding and actually asking me about Sunday.”

Mum said, “But you said 11:00, didn’t you?”

I said, “11:00 is my choice.”

Mum said, “So once you heard of your church friend’s suggestion, you found it a good idea. Then you dashed here at 11:00.”

I said, “Yes.”

Mum said, “Now that your church friend remains undecided, what are we going to do?”

I said, “Such a good idea...Let’s get into the water, Pei Pei.”
