I had a lunch gathering with a friend.

Friend said, “It’s more than a year since we last met.”

I said, “Yes, more than a year.”

Friend said, “Last time I saw you, you told me you’re going to enrol in music studies.”

I said, “Yes, I was taking the Higher Certificate then. But now, I’ve already started the first year of diploma studies in composition.”

Friend said, “Time flies.”

I said, “Yes, we’ll, I’d like to share with you some short pieces that I composed. Interested?”

Friend said, “Yes.”

I picked a music recording in my smartphone.

I said, “This is a piece of Jazz that I wrote last week.”

Friend said, “It sounds rich. A lot of instruments employed?”

I said, “Not really, only 3.”

I said, “This is a piece of program music that I wrote for the mid-term exam in the 1st term.”

Friend said, “There sounds to be a radical change in the middle.”

I said, “It is the watershed of the story.”

I said, “This is a piece of pop music that I rearranged with Logic Pro X.”

Friend said, “It sounds very rhythmical.”

I said, “I’m learning to design various drum-set patterns with Logic Pro X.”

I picked another music recording in my smartphone.

I said, “This is the scripture-reading sound track.”

Friend said, “How to make it?”

I said, “Pick an Apple loop, put up some effects and record the reading on a microphone. Bounce it. Done.”

I picked a short video clip in my smartphone.

I said, “This is a video clip of my trial piano performance.”

Friend said, “It sounds like a hymn.”

I said, “Yes, it is.”

Friend said, “Your touching looks swifter and lighter.”

I said, “Thanks. Let’s stop here. Other recordings are stored in my computer.”

Friend said, “Why could you have done so many things?”

I said, “With a good time management and a band room where I can concentrate on my practices.”

Friend said, “How can you stay motivated?”

I said, “Stay motivated in?”

Friend said, “Last time we met, you said you’re going to enrol in music studies. Who would have expected that you keep your studies and manage to come up with some good results? How can you?”

I said, “By following the Lord.”

Friend said, “……”

I said, “You know I trust the Lord!”

Friend said, “Haven’t there been a moment of doubt about whether or not to go on with what you are doing now?”

I said, “There is.”

Friend said, “Then, how can you go on?”

I said, “By following the Lord.”

Friend said, “……”

I said, “I trust that the Lord will support me along my music studies. And so far He does.”

Friend said, “You’ve just given me an encouragement.”

I said, “What is the encouragement about?”

Friend said, “I want to rearrange my personal schedule and adjust my life direction.”

I said, “Great. Ask the Lord. He always helps.”
