“Service, is it my offer, or the Lord’s❓”
When I offer one round of service, the Lord offers N rounds.”

Student arrived.
I said, “Recording on Phonics practices, done?”
Student said, “Not yet.”
I said, “Drillings on sentence structure, done?”
Student said, “Not yet.”
I said, “Translation, done?”
Student said, “Not yet.”
I said, “Very busy?”
Student said, “Yes.”
I said, “Busy with what?”
Student said, “With revision before the exam and practices for the computer programme-writing competition.”
I said, “Alright.”
Student said, “I’ll rush the assignments for you.”
I said, “No rush.”
Student said, “But I owe you the assignments.”
I said, “You owe me nothing. You owe yourself the assignments. The assignments are for you, not for me.”
Student said, “What?”
I said, “If you submit the assignments on time, what good does this do me?”
Student said, “......”
I said, “If you submit the assignments on time, you’re getting smarter but I’m getting busier.”
Student grinned.
I said, “Now that you’re too busy to complete the assignments on time, let’s do some of them now.”
......
Another me said, “You’ve spent a considerable amount of time and effort in constructing the website - JesusBakery as your service for the Lord.”
I said, “Yes.”
Another me said, “The Lord has benefited from your website - JesusBakery. He’ll reward you.”
I said, “What is the benefit I offer the Lord?”
Another me said, “You help Him spread the gospel! Without your weekly reflections, I don’t know how the good news can get around.”
I said, “Are you mad? If the Lord is to tell the gospel Himself, He can do it to anyone anywhere anytime He wants. I’m nobody.”
Another me said, “Then why did the Lord compel you to write weekly reflections?"
I said, “No, He didn’t. He did call some church brother and sister to bring me such a suggestion. But it’s I myself that took it and started writing.”
Another me said, “What?”
I said, “How does the Lord benefit from my weekly reflections?”
Another me said, “By the way, you’re telling the gospel as if squeezing toothpaste out of a tube, so tiny, so slowly, barely enough for the day. If I were the Lord, I wouldn’t be patient enough to wait for you. I’d better do it on my own.”
I said, “See. When I write weekly reflections, I’m getting closer to the Lord but the Lord’s getting busier.”
Another me said, “What’s the Lord busy with?”
I said, “He sent me to translation studies to develop my language competence; He walks with me every day. He gives me inspirations and guides me to write them down in my prayers; When I’ve got the first draft ready, He asks some others to give me comments, do proofreading and work on the translation; When the final draft is ready, He calls another to construct a website and show me how to upload my reflection there.”
Another me said, “Isn’t it too much?”
I said, “He now even directs me to realise what I want. He sent me to school to study music last October.”
Another me said, “Hey, why is the Lord so bad in calculation? You offer one round service but the Lord offers N rounds.”
I said, “Because the Lord loves me.”
