When waiting for the breakfast

Mum said, “My dad and I had a new discovery.”

I said, “What new discovery?”

Mum said, “Your cat, Tung Tung……”

I said, “My cat, You own him too, don’t you?”

Mum said, “Anyway, he’s got a new move.”

I said, “What new move?”

Mum said, “Whenever you opened your room door, he’d go in and sleep ok the chair beside you.”

I said, “What is the problem?”

Mum said, “The problem is, he didn’t act this way.”

I said, “How did he act?”

Mum said, “He used to stay with either your dad or me but never you.”

I said, “You’re right.”

Mum said, “No doubt. You used to do something he doesn’t like, such as brushing teeth, cutting fingernails, bathing, feeding pills, outing, clearing ears, and wiping eyes……”

I said, “But I’m still doing all these things.”

Mum said, “Attention, here comes the core of our new discovery.”

I said, “The core on top of your discovery, show me.”

Mum said, “Tung Tung turned out to sleep with you now because he knows he’s saved him.”

I said, “Hay, I agree to what you’ve just said.”

Dad said, “You cured Tung Tung?”

I said, “It wasn’t me. It’s the Lord that cured Tung Tung. But I did pay.”

Mum said, “I suspect Tung Tung knows you’ve paid the price to save him.”

I said, “Logical. I was the one that sent him to hospital, that received him when discharged and brought him to the specialist. He must have seen me settle the payment with my credit card.”

Mum said, “That’s why people say animals are loyal.”
…….

Another me said, “I have a new discovery.”

I said, “What new discovery?”

Another me said, “You’ve got a new move.”

I said, “What new move?”

Another me said, “You always talk about the Lord.”

I said, “Really?”

Another me said, “You give weekly reflections about Him, don’t you?”

I said, “What is the problem?”

Another me said, “The problem is, you didn’t act this way.”

I said, “How did I act?”

Another me said, “You used to say how pitiful you are but now you always talk about how powerful the Lord is.”

I said, “You’re right.”

Another me said, “Attention, here comes the core of my new discovery.”

I said, “The core on top of your discovery, show me.”

Another me said, “You turn out to talk about the Lord now because you know the Lord has saved you.”

I said, “Hay, I agree to what you’ve just said.”

Another me said, “But since you studied music, you seem to mention Him more than ever before.”

I said, “No doubt. It is the Lord that makes me a music-lover, that sends me to Hong Kong International Institute of Music and the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts for music studies, that finds me ways to financially support my own studies and that goes along with my composition practice every day.”

Another me said, “So…hold on, why does the Lord treat you better?”

I said, “How would He? He saves everyone. But have you accepted Jesus as your saviour?”

Another me said, “……”

I said, “He guides everyone too. But have you let go of whatever is in your tight grip and follow this personal Lord out of your comfort zone?”
